About the Eskom learnership Programme
Eskom invites unemployed people to apply for the learnership programme. The Eskom learnership programme is offered to all people from different communities. Eskom learnership programme are part of the National Skills Development Strategy. The aim of the National Skills Development Strategy is to fight unemployment and poverty within all South African communities. With this learnership programme individuals will gain valuable experience and skills that will allow them to excel in their future workplace. There are plenty of Eskom learnership programs that individuals can choose from. Eskom has approximately 2000 learnerships available every year.
Eskom learnerships are mainly offered to people who were previously disadvantaged. These programs include Electrical, Mechanical, Welding, Control and Instrumentation, Fitting & Turning, Heat Pumps, and Administrative training.

Eskom generally offers various learnerships under the banner of Eskom FET Learners/Learnerships (including Learner Plant Operators), for which the following general rules apply:
Basic Requirements
-All interested candidates must be a permanent South African citizen
-Applicants must be in possession of a Matric Certificate With:
- English symbol E or level 3 and above
- Mathematics symbol E or level 3 and above
- Science symbol E or level 3 and above
OR
–N3/NCV level 4 Engineering subjects with:
- English symbol E or level 3 and above
- Mathematics symbol E or level 3 and above
- Science symbol E or level 3 and above
Selection Tools
The following selection tools will be used in selecting suitable applicants for the learnerships:
- Background checks/integrity assessments
- Curiosity Test
- Interview
- Lego
- Medical Assessments
- Nuts and Bolts
- Psychometric assessments (optional)
Only applicants who meet the requirements will be considered for further selection. The Annual intake of leaners or individuals will depend on the learnership programs available. Applications received through online will be taken into consideration. If you do not receive a call for an interview 30 days after the closing date kindly consider your application unsuccessful.

Kindly note that the appointment of a candidate is at the sole discretion of Eskom. Various factors that Eskom considers to be relevant may be taken into account when making such decisions, including but not limited to Eskom’s employment equity policy. Eskom supports a smoke-free environment.
If you have not been contacted within 28 days of the closing date of this learnership, it means that your application was unsuccessful.
The Eskom Learnership agreement is a legally binding agreement and any irregularity or violation of the terms of the agreement will be dealt with in accordance with Sections 17 and 18 of the Skills Development Act, 97 of 1998.

- Candidates must provide copies of all necessary documents, all copies must be certified and not older than three months
