About the sassa learnership programme
SASSA every year invites young unemployed people who meet all the necessary requirements to apply for the learnership programme. If you have completed an administrative course and you are eager to be part of this learnership opportunity, you should apply before the closing date.
South African Social Security Agency is an agency that was started by the government to regulate and control distribution of Social grants. SASSA main function is to ensure that everyone who meet all the necessary requirements receives Social grants sufficiently.
There are more than 16 million people throughout South Africa who received social grants monthly. These grants are issued to people who are in need of financial aid, it includes the elderly, disability and child support. SASSA handles the entire process from application to payment. This includes verifying information, approval, and detection along with the prevention of fraud.
SASSA Learnerships Available
SASSA has a limited amount of learnership fields for you to consider. Here is a list of their learnership career fields below, however, there may be other fields not mentioned, and once applications open these will be advertised on the SASSA Website

South African Social Security Agency learnership program takes place for a period of 12 months unless stated otherwise. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend however they will be responsible for their own transport, meal and accommodation costs. SASSA learnership program does not guarantee you a permanent contract of employment however qualifying candidates may be considered once the government has unfilled positions.
Basic Requirements
To apply for learnerships delivered by SASSA, you must meet all their requirements. Here is a list of the basic stipulations you must meet to be eligible
- Applicants must be permanently residing within South African boarders.
- Interested applicants must be 18 and no older than 35
- All candidates must be in possession of a valid ID document
- Individuals must have completed their Matric
- You must have a diploma or degree in your field of application where applicable
Application Process
Online application processes for the SASSA learnership program are not available. Interested candidates can download the application forms and use the reference number to apply. Once the application open you can fully complete your applications and submit it with the necessary documents. All necessary documents must be certified and no older than three months. Do not submit original documents as they will not be returned.Emailed or faxed applications will not be taken into account.
