Nedbank Group Ltd every year invites young unemployed graduates who have the necessary qualifications to apply for the learnership programme. Nedbank offers plenty of learnership opportunities individuals from different communities can choose from. They have approximately 200 available learnership programmes every year. The Nedbank Group, Ltd is a bank holding company and one of the four largest banking groups in South Africa. Its principal banking subsidiary is Nedbank Ltd.
It has been listed on JSE Ltd since 1969 and on the Namibian Stock Exchange since 2007. The majority shareholder, owning 52% of the group, is Old Mutual plc.
The group consists of Nedbank Capital, Nedbank Corporate, Nedbank Business Banking, Nedbank Retail, Nedbank Wealth, and Central management functions in support of frontline businesses (incorporating Rest of Africa). Services include Wholesale and Retail Banking Services, Insurance, Asset Management and Wealth Management.
Learnerships consist of both theoretical and practical training which will be given at venues as stated by Nedbank. Selected candidates will receive a monthly stipend for the duration of the learnership which is usually 12 months.
The Information Technology Learnership Programme
This is outcomes-based learning, and the learnership is based on a legally binding contract between the learner, the employer, and the service provider.
Basic Requirements
There are certain requirements for being accepted into this learnership:
Minimum Requirements
- Applicants must be in possession of a Matric certificate
- All candidates must be permanently residing within SA boarders
- Applicants must not have a bad credit rating
- You must not have a criminal record. (If you have a criminal case pending against you, you must provide all the details when applying.)
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must be willing to study and stay in the province in which the learnership is offered
- Candidates must be previously disadvantaged
The ITBLP is aimed at providing full scholarships for advanced Information and Communication Technology training to previously disadvantaged matriculants and graduates with a flair for technology.
