With these learnership programs individuals will gain valuable experience and skills within their future career field. Absa learnership opportunities usually take place for a period of twelve to eighteen months. Within these months individuals will be trained and guided into becoming the best in their desired field.

There are so many learnerships within the banking sector.  ABSA may have some of the following career paths available each year:

  • Branch Manager
  • Teller
  • Accountant
  • Customer Service
  • ATM Technician
  • IT Business Analyst
  • Debt Counselor
  • Treasury Analyst
  • Marketing Manager
  • Loans Officer
  • Home Loans Officer

Basic Requirements

Interested candidates must be aged between 18 and 30. Candidates must include a detailed curriculum vitae and any other additional information they may feel is important to their applications. They must also include copies of all necessary documents (all copies must be certified and no older than three). All interested candidates must be a permanent South African citizens.

Candidates will also be required to have the following:

  • Matric
  • Accounting or Mathematics
  • English, read, write and speak
  • Ability to communicate with clients
  • Computer literate
  • Be self-motivated and a team player
  • Flexibility with a commitment to learn, but also have a willingness to work

Candidates who apply will also be checked for the following:

  • Any and all credit records
  • Criminal record
  • Any registered employees dismissal processes
  • References with previous employers
  • Any falsification of documentation

Application Process

Online application Processes for absa learnership programs are made available every year on different websites. All interested candidates will be required to complete an online assessment and agree to an interview. Visit absa webpage for more information

On the application you will be required to provide all the necessary details like your previous work experience, education background etc. Candidates who meet all the necessary requirements set out by the company will be notified via e-mail.

The e-mail will come with the online assessment links that you need to complete. The main aim of the online assessment is to measure your ability and skills. If you are selected from this process a telephonic interview will follow shortly.  This is in turn followed by a physical interview and then the selection process is complete.  After your physical interview, you will be contacted within 5 business days to be notified of the results
